Refund policy
We will work with you to find a solution that is appropriate to your specific issue. Possible resolutions include reprinting the order, crediting the order, or in rare cases, refunding the order.
Custom printed orders are generally non-refundable. If there is an issue with your order we will be happy to work with you to come to a solution.
Custom printed items include: apparel, accessories, wall art, bags, home decor
Since all of our items are handmade, there may be variations between or even within an order.
Returns
Clothing items are not returnable due to sizing issues. Since all garments are printed and made-to-order, we cannot replace/remake a garment that was not ordered in the correct size. Please choose the correct size by referring to our measurement charts. (See tabs on the right hand side of your monitor, or top left on mobile)
All returns are handled on a case by case basis. In most cases, Col Mitchell/Wild Blackbird does not cover the shipping cost of a returned item. Returns must be received within 30 days.
We have a 15-day return policy, which means you have 15 days after receiving your item to request a return.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, clothing unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
To start a return, you can contact us at col@colmitchell.com. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Please follow these steps to report it to us:
- Take a few good quality pictures that clearly illustrate the problem. If the problem is related to sizing, try to place a tape measure on the garment to show the the problem.
- Email us at col@colmitchell.com
- In the subject title, please put the order number so we can easily look up your information and order.
- We will confirm we received your email and will try to be back in touch in 48 hours. If your matter is urgent, please call us! 708-783-0120
We may ask you for more information or pictures if the submitted photos are not clear enough. We take quality matters very seriously and sometimes it can take a bit longer to review a problem if it is more complicated.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
Cancellations
If there is an error with your order or if there are any changes you wish to make after your order has been placed, we require that you contact us within 8hrs of the order being placed or by the following business day if the order was placed over the weekend. 705-783-0120 col@colmitchell.com
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on original artwork, collaborative works (Two Natures Jewellery and Driftwood Sailboats), sale items or gift cards.
